The Velvet Underground (CD2, Tk5)
Rock and Roll (Live) (recorded live in 1969; released in 1974)
Lou Reed, vocals and guitar; Doug Yule, vocals and bass guitar; Sterling Morrison, guitar; Maureen Tucker, percussion.

This group was one of the first groups to experiment with elements of the avant-garde. This group help move away from pop rock by leading a movement of anti-pop away from the polished performances of pop. Later groups in punk, alternative, and noise would follow and imitate Velvet Undergrounds raw sound. The lyrics were perhaps the most sophisticated part of this groups music. The music, on the other hand, sounded basic with little brilliant technical moments in the rhythm section or the vocals.
